What is Fire Cupping?

Cupping is the use of glass suction cups to move qi and blood that is stuck in the surface layer of the body.

Drawing up the skin opens up the skin’s pores, which helps to stimulate the flow of blood, balances and realigns the flow of qi, breaks up obstructions, and creates an avenue for toxins to be drawn out of the body.

Although it can leave ‘bruises’, the technique itself is often relaxing and feels very releasing.

What is Gua-Sha?

Gua sha, meaning "scraping sha-bruises", is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Practitioners believe gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing

Raising sha removes blood stagnation considered pathogenic in traditional East Asian medicine.

Modern research shows the transitory therapeutic petechiae produce an anti inflammatory and immune protective effect that persists for days following a single Gua sha treatment accounting for the immediate relief that patients feel from pain, stiffness, fever, chill, cough, wheeze, nausea and vomiting etc, and why Gua sha is effective in acute and chronic internal organ disorders including liver inflammation in hepatitis.

Tui Na, 'the Essence of Chinese Medicine'

Tui-Na literally translates to push-grasp.

Classical Tui Na is one of the most powerful modalities in Chinese medicine, known for consistently producing clinical results. Yet in modern China and in the West, this method of direct and effective hands-on diagnosis and treatment has largely been lost, due to an emphasis on the seemingly “more medical” (minimum touch) modalities of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. In fact, for many medical conditions that plague people today, Tui Na is the superior choice for effective treatment.  This powerful massage technique to helps to move and circulate Qi in the body, loosen tight muscles and work closely on tendons and ligaments. Tui-Na is particularly helpful with musculoskeletal issues and is usually used in conjunction with acupuncture.
